Mario had a deep affection for pit bulls as a child and wasn’t prepared to deny the stunning Hickory the opportunity to enjoy his life.
“Everyone in my family raised this breed. I raised my kids with these dogs as well. They are very loving.
The only issue was that Mario was working in California, and adopting this lovely dog would almost certainly be too late. At work, Mario made the bold decision to make some calls.
Without any breaks, the drive from California to New York can take over two days.
Thankfully, they managed to get it to New York via the truck route. To ensure that Hickory wasn’t being killed, he continued to phone the shelter when he was on the road.
I called the shelter every day. On the third day, they even knew my phone number. “Yes,” they replied, “Mario.” It’s still there. It is still there.
Mario was eager to see the new family member, so he drove as fast as he could. The most “surprising” part of all was Hickory’s enthusiasm and seeming realization that Mario had become a huge source of joy for him.

Hickory instantly became buddies with his two new pit bull brothers after he got home. However, he wouldn’t let Mario go after realizing he had to go back to work. Hickory would be Mario’s new co-pilot, the family decided, which was the perfect answer.
He’s now her perfect coworker, and she’s happy to try new things.
“Parks and farms are where we always stop.” He has snarled at cows and met horses. She is enjoying herself immensely.
Hickory sleeps inside the truck at night thanks to his own dog bed.
It was obvious that Mario and Hickory were meant to be together. We wish you many more adventures together.
